Frank Perin — After a lackluster finish to their preseason friendly schedule, Hamilton Croatia’s Men opened their Hamilton & District Elite Division season with a superb 5-0 shutout of Globe FC.
Kory Jazbec was the hat-trick hero in his return to the Hamilton lineup, while Zachary Zeka recorded the clean sheet.
The men’s squad lost a home friendly at the Big Picnic this past Sunday to an undermanned St. Catharines Hrvat squad, but there was obviously no reason to hit the panic button.
Nathan Mrakuzic and former London Croatia midfielder Bobby Stipancic also added goals, while Nicky Petrina played a stellar game in defence to help preserve the first shutout of the season for Croatia.
