Saulez Says It Was A Tough Decision
Frank Perin – Central defender Andrew Saulez, a key piece to the success of the past two seasons has called it a day and pulled himself out of Hamilton Croatia’s plans for 2010.
“It was not an easy decision to make, but unfortunately it was a decision that I had to make with my head and not my heart,” said Saulez in a statement emailed to club officials.
He cited other commitments in his life have made it too difficult to commit the time necessary to compete at the CSL level.
“I am excited that the club has taken the next step to compete at the CSL level and feel that any player that plays for the team needs to be able to commit fully in order to help the team achieve at the highest level. The executive, the players, and the coaching staff have the team moving in the right direction and they deserve the highest level of comitment from all involved. I wish the guys all the success right from the start in the CSL and I am confident that, with all the people that are involved, they can achieve their goals.”
The powerful defender joined the club in 2008 and helped Croatia earn promotion to the OSL Provincial League, and was a major part of last season’s OSL West Champion team.
“I am proud of our accomplishments over the two years and really enjoyed my time with the club. It is a weird day when you realize that you can’t make soccer your top priority, so I hope the young guys work hard and enjoy it while they can.”
