TV Sports Extravaganza Tonight at GMR
We know what is happening right about now….messages between friends are flying to see where you will get together to watch the “big game” tonight. Now, whatever game or sport interests you the most, make GMR your choice for all the action.
Whether its; Game 7 elimination battle between two original six rivals Leafs-Bruins (Go Leafs Go!); or the Toronto Raptors who are basically forced to break a two-game losing stint on the road in Washington with an important Game 5 at home tonight; or the Jays who also battle a Boston side in game two of a three game series – we have you covered (p.s. it’s cool the Marlies are also playing tonight but lets get serious).
After the prime time action is over, the soccer faithful will stay and witness what is likely the biggest game in TFC’s history. They kick off the second leg (9:30 pm) for a chance to be crowned the 2018 CONCACAF Champions League Champions. There is work to do after losing the first leg 2-1 at home; although, we know this team can score in Mexico against top tier teams so we do believe…TFC! TFC!

2018 Bocce Season Update – Registration Dates Confirmed
Dates:
Registration nights for our two leagues will take place on the following dates:
Women’s League on May 2
Men’s League on May 3
(Reminder: Women’s action is Tuesday & Wednesday and Men compete Monday and Thursday evenings).
Time and Food:
Registration will take place from 6pm-8pm at GMR with the restaurant open at 5 pm for dinner for those interested
Don’t Delay:
As many of you know, leagues are always at capacity and sell out quickly. Please organize your team now and be prepared to make the final payment (with includes full roster details) at your registration day next week.
Facility Upgrades:
As a reminder, by next year, our organization is planning significant upgrades to the bocce facilities as we are committed to making this league the best one around, anywhere! We are excited about these upgrades as the players in our leagues have been the drivers of this feedback over the past few years.
2018 League Fees:
Per Player Fee: $70
Membership Required:
Each player in any of our leagues is required to be a member in good standing of our organization. For those who are not Lifetime Members, or who have not yet paid their membership in 2018, can do so at the registration night (this is also why full rosters are required in early May).
Members Fees:
$30 per person
$50 per family
$10 for seniors over 60 years of age

The 2018 season will begin the week of May 28th which is the day after our BIG picnic. A schedule will be available shortly after the registration is complete.
Spring Park Day | Saturday May 5
A notice and call for volunteers to help get our park ready for the busy outdoor season. It has been a long and grueling winter, we need as many hands on deck for as much time as people have available on Saturday, May 5 to help ensure the park is ready for it’s official opening for the summer season later in May.
As mentioned, even if you only have an hour or two to spare – it goes a long way!

Call for Volunteers
In addition to Park Day, our organization hosts many events throughout the year where we depend on our volunteers to make the events possible. We want to take this opportunity to thank our members who have stepped up – and continue to step up – throughout the year.
We are asking that every family consider dedicating a few hours this year to one of our events. This is what makes our organization successful so thank you!

Sunday May 13 – Mothers Day Meat Sale
As per our annual tradition, we will have lamb and pork available on Mother’s Day this year at GMR. The meat always sells out so please come early!

Gates will be open early and meat will be ready for sale and pickup at 10 am.
Update | Team Hamilton Croatia Cycling
Team Hamilton Croatia Cycling is a club of bicycle riders excited about getting fit and staying fit. We welcome men and women of all ages – just get a good bike, helmet, riding gear and a make a commitment to keep going.
Our rides take place every Saturday morning 7:30 am from GMR parking lot. We have two groups: more experienced riders with road bikes who complete a 50+km route at a good pace. For more novice riders, beginners or those with hybrid bikes, there is a shorter or alternate route available. We also ride as a team at many of the local Granfondos, participate in organized rides and celebrate with after-ride parties.
Cycling is being called the ‘new golf’ and we are fast growing team – with 25 riders in only two years! So, whether you are sixteen or sixty – you will enjoy the exercise and camaraderie of riding with like minded Croatians (mostly). Curious? Well come out on Saturday mornings starting May 5th to meet the team and see if cycling is for you. Interested parties can ride as guest with annual membership to the club at $42 to the Ontario Cycling Association and a $25 admin fee.

Thank you to all of the donors who are noted on the back of the tickets as well as all of you who buy tickets to support our organization with a great chance to win one of the many amazing prizes (a reminder that the top prize is round trip airfare to Croatia).
