This Sunday May 31, the Croatian Sports and Community Centre will again proudly host the largest community event dedicated to recognizing a very significant milestone in the democracy building efforts during the struggle for Croatian independence in the early 1990s. For those in the Hamilton and surrounding areas, the Croatian park on Green Mountain Road in Stoney Creek has been known as the home for this annual tribute (more on the history of 30. Svibnja 1990 in both English and Croatian languages).
This Sunday’s picnic will contain many exciting activities including: visiting the new restaurant for a drink or cappuccino on the patio, enjoying some excellent roasted meats from our cookhouse, watch our youth (both boys and girls) at various ages compete in soccer matches with other Croatian organization’s from neighbouring cities, watch folklore performances, listen to the band and dance on the new outdoor patio, enter our raffle for a chance to win some great prizes, and interact with family & friends at our park.
We hope to see you there! For those buying meat, we have made improvements to the efficiency of the cookhouse ordering.
