Hamilton Croatia finished its group stage matches on Saturday with two wins and a draw, a performance good enough to qualify them to the Quarter Finals on Sunday. Saturday’s undefeated group stage results were as follows: 2-1 win over Windsor Croatia, 2-2 draw with London Croatia, and a 2-0 win over Ottawa Jadran.Hamilton was then paired up with Cleveland Croatia in one of Sunday’s QF matches. It was a tight game right down to the wire. After trailing 1-0, with the game winding down, Hamilton Croatia’s late substitute, an injured Jerko Grubisic, equalized with what was expected to be the goal to send this game into extra minutes and potentially penalty kicks. Unfortunately, with just a couple of minutes left in regular time, Cleveland Croatia regained the lead and would go on to win the game 2-1. Our boys played with tremendous heart and class, representing our club with pride. Congratulations to the team, the coaching staff as well as the many fans who came out to cheer on the team this weekend.
