Second Round begins, another upset opens things up!
Perns — It was an amazing night of action to begin the Second Round of the Men’s Bocce League Playoffs last night.
Three of the four matches went the full three sets (best 2-of-3), with the only exception being the Propuh-Rockers match. That one ended up 16-15, 16-15, with Propuh having to come from behind to win both sets.
Kupa also advanced to the quarterfinals as a double-digit seed and looks really strong after beating a tough Livno team.
The underdog Rockers had a total breakdown with mistakes costing them two leads, but it was a great rookie season by them and they look poised to come back even stronger next year. It was a huge comeback win for Propuh — the veterans showed a lot of character.
Nije Bed started off with only two players and never found their form as they were downed by Monday night’s fifth-seed Duck Duck Mus.
Road Warriors had a scare dropping their second game, but rebounded to win the deciding match with the aid of some nice take-outs by Dado Lukovic.
Second round play resumes tonight.
