Team HRV was started in 1989, and the all-Croatian ice-hockey team has competed in numerous leagues and tournament's since it's inception.

The open-age men's team has experienced many milestones over the years, including winning the first ever Canadian-Croatian Hockey Tournament in 1997.

The team currently plays during the winter months in the Adult Safe Hockey League. In the ASHL the overall calibre of play contributes to what level you compete at — the strength of your opponent changes almost weekly. The HRV has spent the past few years bouncing between the C, D, and E1 Divisions.

The team also co-hosts an annual Christmas game where HRV A takes on HRV B, and all the players and fans get a chance to celebrate the holidays together with food and drinks following the game.
